FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know if I need a mold inspection?

If you notice a musty smell, visible discoloration, or have had recent water damage, a mold inspection is recommended. Health symptoms that improve when you leave the house can also be a sign.

Does BNF Consulting Texas perform mold remediation?

No. As a licensed Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC), we perform inspections and testing only - not remediation.
This separation protects you: Texas law prohibits the same company form both assessing and remediating mold.

How long does a mold inspection take?

Depending on the package, inspections take 1-4 hours on-site. Lab results are returned within 3-5 business days, after which your written report is delivered by email.

Is mold inspection required when buying or selling a home in Texas?

Not always required, but strongly recommended. If major mold remediation has been performed in the last 5 years, Texas law requires a Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation (CMDR) to be provided to the buyer.
